Churro

Churro is a playful and sweet 5 month old chihuahua mix that weighs 10 pounds. He is expected to be about 25 pounds full grown. Churro is friendly, outgoing, and social. He absolutely loves people and other dogs, and even kitties too. He is always up for a good time and would be a perfect companion for going on outdoor adventures with his humans. Some of his favorite things to do are sunbathing, playing with his toys in the yard, chasing the flirt pole, and trying to catch water with his mouth from the water hose. He also enjoys wrestling with his dog friends, going on walks, and cuddling on the couch with his humans. He is very affectionate and loves to get as close as possible when he is snuggling up to his human. He will even give some love nibbles to show how much he adores you, especially when he's getting a belly rub, too. Churro's ideal family would be a good mix of active and laid back, that loves the outdoors, and wants a silly, playful pup to shower them with affection.
Churro is medium energy, so he is pretty mellow with short bursts of energy that requires 1-2 hours of exercise per day. He is best described as spunky and playful. Once he's burned some of that puppy energy off he's ready to cuddle in your arms as he falls asleep for a puppy nap. You will know he is really tired because he will nuzzle his way into your arms and fall asleep. Churro's energy can be easily burned with tossing toys in the yard, chasing the flirt pole, or going on walks around the neighborhood. He also loves to run around and play with his dog friends in the backyard. His newest fun game to play is chasing the water hose and trying to catch the water in his mouth. He is very curious and confident, so he would love to go on adventures hiking and exploring nature with his humans too. He is very self entertaining, and loves to have a variety of toys to choose from. He also loves puzzle toys that he can seek out treats from, and has been very quick to pick up on figuring out how to get his treats out of new puzzle toys he is introduced to.
Churro is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He is in a foster home with both large and small dogs ranging from young to senior in age. He loves them all, and is quick to make friends with new dogs he meets. He would love to go to doggy day care to socialize and play while his human goes to work during the day, especially if there are no other dogs in the home for him to play with. He does best with dogs that match his energy and play style, and will share his toys and loves to play wrestle too. He is still learning boundaries with older, more grumpier dog. Sometimes when one of the grumpy older dogs in his foster home corrects him, he will get excited and bark at them before he accepts that they don't want to play then he runs off to find something else to entertain himself with. He also gets along great with the cats in his foster home. He loves to play with the dog-friendly cat in the home and gets excited to see him everyday. He leaves the senior cat alone and respects her space. He would do best in a home with older children who understand his playfulness and spunk when he's running around. He doesn't always have the best manners when he's in a playful mood and will jump on his humans. He tries his best to be gentle though so if there was younger kids in the home supervision is a must.
Churro is treat motivated and has already mastered how to sit for treats. He is working on learning more commands and loves to work for some tasty treats. He is leash trained, kennel trained, and potty trained. He loves to go on walks in the neighborhood and enjoys sniffing around. He sleeps well in the kennel and will go in willing for a treat when needed during the day. He is also almost fully potty trained too. He hasn't had an accident in the home but will use the potty pad in his kennel when needed if he is left for more than 5-6 hours without a potty break. With a consistent schedule he will continue to do well as he gets older with holding it longer if needed, but for now, he does need frequent potty breaks throughout the day.
Churro's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. He would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse as long as his human can take him on multiple walks and potty breaks, and as long as there is a private backyard or fenced in area (not a public dog park) that can be used to take him out for playtime/exercise. He would also benefit from going to doggy day care so he can make new puppy friends while also burning some energy if you work outside of the home during the day. He would do great with a family that has other dogs and kids, and would coexist well if there's a kitty in the home too. He really just loves to be with his humans and wants to spend as much time as possible with them, so if they work from home or if he can join them at pet-friendly offices, even better,
