Enzo is a sweet, cuddly 5.5 month old terrier mix that weighs 30 lbs. He is estimated to be about 60-65 pounds once he is full grown. Enzo is the type of dog that brings so much love and happiness to your life. He craves affection and attention, but in a balanced way—he’s content being near his humans without being overly clingy, which is a great quality for those who want a loving but independent companion. His loving nature and enthusiasm for life make him the perfect companion for anyone looking for a dog who’s both playful and affectionate. He absolutely loves to be spoiled and doted on with lots and lots of belly rubs, hugs, and kisses. He gets so excited when he is talked to like a baby that his whole body wags side to side with excitement. He is good at self-entertaining and really is just happy to be in the same room with you. If you work from home, he will keep himself entertained with his toys and chews while lying on the couch or dog bed. Whether you're out on an adventure or just enjoying a cozy day at home, Enzo is happy to be there with you. He’d thrive in an environment where he gets a balance of fun activities and quiet cuddle time, and would be perfect the perfect companion for anyone looking for a dog who’s both playful and affectionate.

Enzo is low to medium energy, so the perfect pup that can balance having fun and also enjoys relaxation. This makes him a great fit for someone looking for a playful yet laid-back companion. He’s content with short walks and play sessions but still up for a longer hike or adventures exploring nature trails if the mood strikes. He’s adaptable and easygoing—always happy to go along with whatever his human is in the mood for. After a bit of exercise, he’s ready to relax, cuddle up, and take a nap on the couch, and he is the ideal dog for someone who enjoys both outdoor activities and cozy downtime. Enzo really loves his stuffed toys and you can catch him almost always carrying one around in his mouth. His favorites are ones that squeak or any stuffed toy in general. He loves when his human tosses a variety of stuffed toys around in the yard. He will grab one, then another one, then another one until he has them all piled up around him. After playtime, he loves to sunbathe and relax out the outdoor couch with his foster mom as he's chewing on a Nylabone. When he's extra tired or ready to relax he will find one of his favorite stuffed animals to suckle on until he falls asleep. Enzo’s food motivation and eagerness to learn make him a great candidate for continued training and bonding with his new family. His willingness to work for treats makes learning new tricks a breeze. Enzo would be a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys a laid-back lifestyle but still wants a dog who’s happy to go on adventures and engage in some fun playtime.

Enzo is just an overall friendly pup who gets along great with humans, dogs, and cats. He is currently in a foster home with dogs ranging in size from small to large and ages from young to senior. He loves to play with dogs, mainly tug-o-war, but he is pretty independent and most of the time he can be found relaxing on his own with his favorite toys or Nylabone chews. He would do best in a forever home that has a laid back dog that respects that he is a more independent type of guy. He gets along great with the cats in the home and is quite uninterested in them in general. He will happily curl up next to the kitty in his foster home for a nap, but doesn't interact with him otherwise. His gentle and calm nature, especially around children, makes him an ideal companion for families of all ages. He loves belly rubs and cuddles so much, and he’d fit right in with a family that enjoys spending quality time together. He is a well-mannered pup that doesn't jump on people, though his enthusiastic attempts to find a comfy spot on the couch may require some awareness around smaller children, as he may unintentionally step on them when settling in. Overall, Enzo’s sweet nature, love for cuddles, and gentle demeanor make him a wonderful choice for a family who wants a loyal and affectionate dog that will bring joy and companionship. His willingness to learn and adapt will only strengthen the bond he forms with his new family as he continues to build trust and confidence, and provide him with the attention and care he thrives on.

Enzo is leash trained, potty trained, and kennel trained. He walks very easily on the leash with no pulling. Enzo can become a little skeptical of new sights and sounds, so he will bark a couple of times while he investigates what it is. With a little patience and positive reinforcement, Enzo is becoming more comfortable and confident meeting new faces and exploring the world around him. His foster mom was able to help him overcome his fears of the vacuum cleaner very quickly by making it a positive experience with yummy treats and continued exposure to it over a couple of days. He also loves to go on walks with his favorite stuffed animal in his mouth, like an emotional support comfort stuffed animal. He will sleep in the kennel at night, but the kennel isn't his favorite place since he just wants to be close to his humans, especially to cuddle and fall asleep for the night. He would love to be able to sleep with his humans in his forever home, but would be fine sleeping on a dog bed nearby. He has just about mastered potty training. While he hasn't had any accidents in the home outside of the kennel, he is still learning how to hold his bladder for longer times and to alert his foster mom of when he needs to go out while he is in the kennel. He will need someone that can take him out every 4-5 hours while he is still growing, and should be able to work up to longer periods as he gets older. When Enzo is out of the kennel and hanging out in the living room, he will stand near the back door indicating that he has to go out, so keeping a watchful eye on him for those cues will be helpful in ensuring he masters potty training.

Enzo's ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard, but he would do well in a condo, apartment, or townhouse as long as he gets frequent outside playtime and potty breaks. He would love to have an active family that enjoys hiking and going on outdoor adventures on the weekends, and is happy going along with a more laid back, low energy schedule during the week. Because of his independent nature, he would be fine without another dog in his forever home, but if there is another dog, he would do best with one that is confident and laid back. He would thrive with a family that is either home often or can take Enzo places with them as he enjoys spending quality time with his humans more than anything. Ideally his human would either work from home , is retired or is a stay-at-home parent, but he would do fine if his humans work a hybrid schedule and he could join them in a dog-friendly office when in-office appearances are required. He would love to have little humans in his forever home to cuddle with and would do well with kids of any age. Enzo's ideal human is someone who can provide a calm atmosphere and is willing to support him as he gains confidence at his own pace. In a tranquil, low-stress home, he’ll be able to show his full loving and affectionate side while he continues to grow into an even more self-secure and happy pup.
