Malone

Malone is a super sweet, laid back 3 month old terrier mix that weighs 9 lbs. He is expected to be between 40-45 lbs. when he is fully grown. Malone has a calm, easygoing nature, which allows him to adapt well to new situations and environments. His go-with-the-flow personality makes him equally content joining in on outdoor adventures or relaxing at home by your side. He's very affectionate and loves to share his sweet puppy kisses with his people every chance he gets. He never passes up a chance to snuggle up with his humans or furry dog friends. He is pretty quiet for a young puppy and knows how to keep himself entertained with his toys and chew bones, so he's the perfect pup to be by your side as you work from home. He adores people just as much as he loves playtime, so if you work in a dog-friendly office, he'd love to join you and make new doggy friends while you work. He loves to soak up all the attention, belly rubs, and cuddles he can get. Although he pretends to be shy at first, he doesn't play hard to get long. He can't resist baby talk and belly rubs, and will happily share his sweet puppy kisses if you make kissy noises to him. He’s the kind of pup who can keep you laughing with his silly antics one moment, then melt into your lap for snuggles the next. Malone's ideal family would be laid back and enjoys spending time outdoors. Whether its relaxing on the porch soaking up the sunshine or going on leisurely walks on nature trails, he's always happy to be by your side.
Malone is low to medium energy, so he is a perfect mix of laid back and active. He enjoys a nice balance of playtime and relaxation, and needs a few short energy-burning activities throughout the day. This sweet boy loves romping around the backyard, playing with his favorite toys, and hanging out with the other dogs in his foster home. While he enjoys playing with his doggy friends, he’s also perfectly content to entertain himself with his favorite toys when he can't find another pup to play with. He enjoys activities that give him a bit of mental stimulation, and would love to have some puzzle games and treat dispensing toys that he can work on to win the main prize - some yummy dog cookies. He has a very curious nature and enjoys exploring the big backyard in his foster home, and even likes to go investigate the cows on the other side of the fence. As he grows and masters leash training, Malone would love to go on casual neighborhood walks or even explore nature trails on longer hikes with his humans. His future home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and he’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month. Puzzle games and chew bones will also be great for keeping him busy indoors, especially as he starts teething soon.
Malone is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He is currently in a foster home with both small and large dogs, and he loves them all. He would love to have another playful dog in his forever home to romp around and cuddle with. He loves to play chase in the backyard with the young adult dog in his foster home, but knows how to be gentle with the senior chihuahua and knows he can only cuddle with him when he's calm. It would benefit him to continue socializing him with dogs of all ages and sizes as he grows up, so doggy daycare would be recommended if he is the only dog in his forever home so he continues learning proper doggy communication skills and play etiquette. He has been around kitties and doesn't mind them at all. Because of his young age and friendly demeanor, he would be able to acclimate to having a cat in his forever home. Since he is a goofy, playful puppy, he would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as he is a puppy and will want to play with them. Malone absolutely loves children and would do well in a home with kids of all ages. He loves to play, cuddle, and share his sweet puppy kisses with the young child in his foster home. He is very gentle and sweet, and would be perfect for a family with kids, but he is going to start teething soon, so his humans will need to keep a watchful eye on him to make sure he doesn't chew on human kid toys laying around. Since he is very sweet, playful, and affectionate, he would do great with a family with kids who want a loving pup to play and cuddle with as they grow up.

Malone is kennel trained and has almost mastered potty training. He sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss as long as he gets a yummy treat and some toys to keep him busy before he falls asleep. When he gets older, he would love to snuggle up in bed with his humans every night so he can get in as many cuddles as possible. He is doing well with potty training since transitioning to going potty outside. When he is inside and needs to go, he will make his way to the back door to signal he needs to be let out. He is still learning how to alert his fosters when he needs to go outside, so that will need some more practice once he is in his forever home and it is recommended to teach him to ring a bell by the backdoor when he needs to go out. He will need his human to help him perfect his leash walking skills and remaining neutral on walks so he doesn't get overly excited to meet a new dog - just in case the other dog doesn't want a new puppy friend going up to them when they're trying to enjoy their walk.
Malone's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to explore, run around, and play in. He would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse and would prefer if his human either works from home or can take him into a dog-friendly office while he is still young. He would also love to go to doggy day care a few times a week if there are no other dogs in the home so that he can have some fun playing with other doggy friends. No public dog parks for this little boy because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. He would love to have a family that has other dogs and kids, and would coexist well if there's a kitty in the home. He would be perfectly fine being the center of attention in his forever home, too. He does need to have someone home most of the day or that can take him into the office if working a hybrid schedule as he still needs frequent potty breaks every few hours. With his adaptable, laid back nature, Malone would be a wonderful fit for a variety of households. Whether you’re looking for a playful pup to join in on your adventures, or a laid-back companion to keep you company at home, Malone is up for joining his human in whatever activities they want to do. Playful yet gentle, he has the best of both worlds—keeping you laughing with his silly antics one moment and melting into your lap for cuddles the next. Malone is ready to be your best friend, a fun partner for adventures, and a sweet snuggle buddy to end every day with.
