Miley

Miley is a super sweet and fun-loving 3 year old terrier / chihuahua mix. She weighs 27 lbs and is at her full grown size, so she won't get any larger. Miley is a social butterfly that loves everyone she meets. She may act a little shy at first, but that's all an act. She is outgoing and friendly, and she loves people and other dogs. She is very playful and silly, and you can usually find her playing with one of her many toys. Her favorite toys are stuffed animals and she loves to toss them around the yard then chasing after them. Although Miley has a playful side, she's always up for cuddling and relaxing with her humans. She loves to shower her fosters with kisses before falling asleep beside them on the couch. Her ideal family would be laid back and lower energy - just like her. She enjoys lounging around sunbathing in the yard, so a family that enjoys spending time outside gardening or just relaxing on the patio is perfect for Miley.
Miley is lower energy, but she does have spurts of energy that can be burned with short exercise activities. She really enjoys lounging around with her foster family after some playtime in the yard with her toys or doggy friends. She enjoys a good game of tug-o-war and when she's feeling really spunky she will play wrestle with the other dogs in her foster home. She also loves to play with her humans and will try to mouth spar like she does when she's playing with other dogs. She loves her stuffed toys and loves to have a variety around her to choose from. Get this girl a Barkbox subscription and she will be the happiest girl in the world! likes walks but walks that are leisurely. She likes to get outside to walk around the neighborhood while she sniffs around a bit, but definitely no running marathons for this laid back girl.
Miley is kid, cat, and dog friendly. She is currently in a foster home with large and small dogs ranging in age from puppy to senior, and she does well with them all. She prefers playing with dogs her size and smaller, and takes a little bit of time to trust larger dogs enough to engage in playtime with them. She likes to play with dogs by trading off stuffed toys or playing tug of war with them. She will also get zoomies in the yard with her dog friends at times too. Miley is also cat friendly but prefers if the cats stay to themselves. If a cat is too interested in her like rubbing on her or sniffing her face she will just walk away from them. She respects the cats' space and prefers them to respect her space too. Miley loves kids and warms up to them the quickest. She's so sweet with her foster mom's 13 year old niece, and loves to give her kisses and cuddles. She can be a little mouthy while playing, but she's really gentle and sweet about it. That's just her telling her human she's ready for playtime and that she wants you to toss one of her toys to chase after. She would do well in a home with older kids due to this, and would really love to have kids in the home that will play fetch with her.
Miley is leash trained, potty trained, and kennel trained. She walks well on a leash and likes to stay close to her human. She walks at a very leisurely pace while also stopping to sniff different spots. She doesn't pull or react to seeing other dogs on her walks, and she has perfect manners when passing by other people and dogs. She is fully potty trained and has never had an accident in the foster home. She doesn't have any real indicator to communicate that she has to go outside but does well with routine. She doesn't mind being in her kennel and likes it as a safe space to relax. She sleeps in a kennel at night but would love to sleep in the bed with her humans instead. Miley loves a variety of treats as well and is very treat motivated. She will be all eyes on you ready to get a treat. She has learned how to sit with the help of treats, but she would rather get a treat for free than engage in training activities. She does like to eat her treats and chew bones without being bothered by other dogs or the cats in her foster home, but doesn't mind at all if her humans sit next to her while she chews on them. If a dog or cat shows interest in whatever she is eating, she is polite when communicating she doesn't want them to bother her. She will just lift her lip and then walk away with her treat. As long as the other animal isn't showing interest in stealing her chew from her, she doesn't care if they walk near her or sit in the general vicinity while she's eating.
Miley's ideal home environment is a house with a fenced in backyard, but she would do well in an apartment, townhouse, or condo. There needs to be a dedicated fenced in space that she can access to get her daily zoomies out, or go on leashed walks. She will chase squirrels, so no off leash areas for this girl. She would not enjoy dog parks because she prefers to play with her doggy friends in a more controlled environment where she feels safe. She would be the perfect pup for someone who works from home or is retired because she enjoys just lounging around with her human and going on short, leisurely walks. She loves kids and would do great with a family with kids of all ages, but would prefer to have older kids in the home that will play with her. She does not need another dog in her forever home, but would be fine living with a playful and confident dog or a laid back dog that respects her independent nature.
