Rosita

Kallie is a laid back, friendly 6 - 7 month old lab/weineramer mix that weighs 33 lbs. She is estimated to be around 55-60 lbs when she is full grown. Kallie is a social butterfly that thrives on companionship and enjoys interacting with both people and dogs. With her laid-back personality and friendly, outgoing nature, she is a great pup to take on fun outings around town, to dog friendly stores, and to visit friends/family for social gatherings. She is the perfect mix of snuggly couch potato and fun, adventurous companion. She is always happy to join her human for anything - whether it's snuggling up on the couch for cuddles and movies, or having fun outdoors going to the beach and hiking in the mountains. Whether it’s a laid back, quiet home with a young couple or one full of kids and other pets, Kallie is the type of pup that always just fits right in everywhere she goes. She's a big fan of car rides, too, and is always down for ride with her human around town, especially if there's a pup cup involved. Kallie's ideal family would be a mix of laid back and adventurous. She would love a family that enjoys fun outdoor adventures like hiking, swimming in the river, and exploring the outdoors.
Kallie is low to medium energy, so she's a good mix of active and laid back. If her human wants to lounge around the house and cuddle on the couch, she's always happy to join them. If her human wants to go on walks on nature trails or hiking the mountains, she is always up for that, too. She loves playing with the resident dog in her foster home and always plays for as long as the other dog wants to play. She's the kind of pup that you can take anywhere with you, and she even joins her foster parents at work every da. While they're working, she just hangs out playing with her toys, chews on a Benebone or sunbathes next to a window. She loves to sit outside and soak up all the sunshine she can, and even has stellar recall when she's in group settings with other dogs. She would benefit from a daily leisurely walk around the neighborhood or even longer walks on nature trails. Then on the weekends, she'd love to go on fun outdoor adventures or even social gatherings where she can interact with people and other dogs. Kallie will happily join you on the trail or at a party—where she can shine as the social butterfly she is.
Kallie is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She is currently in a home with a smaller dog. She knows how to be gentle and adjust her play style based on the dogs she is interacting with. She loves to play with other dogs of any size and age, but she is not a big fan of rough-housing or wrestling. She's always up for a good game of chase or tug-o-war though. She would benefit from having another friendly, playful dog in her forever home, but she would be perfectly fine being a solo dog as well. She has done well meeting cats AND tortoises, and likes to just sit back and observe them. If they come up to her, she will sit there quietly and allow them to initiate an interaction first. Kallie would do well with kids of all ages as she loves to be cuddled and loved on. Her calm, gentle temperament would be great for toddlers learning to walk and older kids too. Since she is very sweet, gentle and affectionate, but also super playful, she would do great with a family with kids who want a fun-loving pup to play and snuggle with.
Kallie is kennel trained, potty trained, and leash trained. She sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss, but she would love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible. She is not destructive and will not get into anything she's not supposed to if she's left out at night, but it is recommended not to leave a bag of treats in her reach as she may be tempted to help herself to a little snack. She is very food motivated and eager to learn new commands as long as food is involved. She is potty trained and will alert if she needs to go outside by standing by the back door. If she is kenneled at night and needs to potty, she will whine to get your attention and will not potty in her kennel, but she tends to stay asleep the whole night once she falls asleep. She walks well on a leash and doesn't pull at all. She's very cautious when she's walking in a busy area and will try to stay near her human so she doesn't lose them in the crowd. She has done well with recall training in less busy places and likes to keep an eye on her human when they're at a park playing off leash, but she should not be off leash if the area is not secure as she has not been tested in busier places with lots of distractions.
Kallie's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. She would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse if her human works from home, can take her to dog-friendly office during the day, or if she can go to a doggy day care a few times a week to play with doggy friends. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because she's not interested in playing rough with other dogs, but she would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots occasionally for playtime/exercise if she does live in an apartment or townhome without a private yard. She would also benefit from going to doggy day care so she can make new doggy friends while also burning some energy if you work outside of the home during the day. She would do love to have a family that has other dogs and kids, and would coexist well if there's a kitty in the home too. She really just loves to be with her humans and the more hands for belly rubs the better, so she would do great in a family with kids of any age.
