Coraline is a sweet, laid back 4 month old Doberman or Beauceron pup that weighs 25 lbs. She is estimated to be around 80-85 lbs when she is fully grown. Right now she’s still very much a goofy, curious baby discovering the world around her. Her personality is equal parts sweet, thoughtful, silly, and endlessly entertaining. She has an irresistibly quirky charm that keeps her foster family laughing every single day. One of Coraline’s absolute favorite games is peek-a-boo. She’ll quietly poke her little head around a doorway or corner and patiently watch her humans until someone notices her. The second you ask, “What are you doing?” she bursts into the cutest happy zoomies, thrilled that you joined in on the game. It’s impossible not to smile around her. She has such a playful spirit, but she expresses it in the gentlest, funniest ways. Coraline is deeply people-oriented and loves simply being near her humans. She follows her foster mom around the house like a tiny shadow, quietly observing whatever is happening throughout the day. Whether it’s folding laundry, cooking dinner, or working from home, Coraline always wants to be nearby, content just to be included in everyday life. She isn’t overly clingy or demanding for attention, which makes her such an easy companion to live with, but she has many subtle little ways of showing affection that make her incredibly special. When she truly bonds with someone, she’ll give the sweetest puppy kisses or gently rest a paw or her nose against them when she falls asleep. Her foster mom often catches Coraline sitting quietly across the room simply staring at her lovingly before wandering over for a few pets once she realizes she has her attention.  For such a young puppy, Coraline has an impressively calm and balanced temperament. She’s naturally laid back and lower energy compared to many puppies her age, making her an amazing work-from-home buddy. While her foster mom works, Coraline is perfectly happy curling up on a cozy dog bed with a toy or chewing on a bone, entertaining herself quietly without needing constant supervision. She has a wonderful ability to settle and relax, but still enjoys bursts of playful energy with her people and dog friends throughout the day. Coraline is also incredibly social with other dogs and enjoys making canine friends, though she’s a little more reserved and polite when meeting new people. Rather than barreling toward guests for nonstop attention, she prefers to calmly approach for a few pets and affection before happily trotting off to continue playing or exploring. Coraline is truly the best of both worlds. She is playful yet laid back, independent yet deeply loving, and goofy yet incredibly intuitive. She’s the kind of dog who will be your little sidekick, shadow, and best friend all in one.

Coraline is low to medium energy, and get short spurts of puppy energy that are easily burned with play time and zoomies. She is more on the laid back side, but as she gets older, her energy level may increase. She would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation. Whether it’s leisurely neighborhood walks, weekend hikes, outdoor patio outings, or cozy evenings on the couch, Coraline will simply be happy being alongside her favorite people. She’s the type of dog who forms deep emotional bonds and becomes an irreplaceable part of her family’s daily routine, so she just wants to do anything her humans are doing. She will be perfectly content going on short leisurely walks around the neighborhood and have a few short play sessions in the backyard. If you want to go on longer hikes and playing at the beach, she will be happy to join too. Because she’s intelligent and naturally curious, Coraline also enjoys activities that challenge her mind. Puzzle toys, treat-dispensing games, squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys are all guaranteed to keep her happy and entertained at home. She’d be really happy if she got a BarkBox subscription each month with new toys, treats, and chews. She would benefit from a family that understands she's not the most confident pup, but she has the potential to be the best outdoor adventure buddy with more exposure and socialization as she gets older. She would absolutely adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home.

Coraline is dog and kid friendly, and could acclimate living in a home with a cat. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs and loves them all. Her favorite dog in her foster home is the grouchy little chihuahua who doesn't really care about her, but Coraline adores her and loves to snuggle up next to her every chance she gets. She also really loves to play with the senior poodle and 6 week old foster puppy, too. She is the type of pup that would do well with either calmer older dogs or playful, spunky dogs in a forever home. She's very adaptable to being around different personalities, temperaments, and energy levels. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from having frequent play dates with doggy friends or go to doggy day care a couple times a week so she continues having positive interactions with other dogs as she grows up. Coraline would do best with older kids who understand that she's a big goofy puppy. She doesn't realize her size, so she could knock over a young child or toddler who is learning how to walk when she gets the zoomies. She is very gentle, sweet, and people-oriented, so if there are older kids in the home to play with and willing to give her affection on her terms, she's going to be a happy girl. Because of her young age and how easily adaptable she is, she would be able to join a family that has a cat in the home. Since she is a puppy, she would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as she will want to play with them.

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained, and is still working on mastering leash training. She sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss, but she loves when she gets to sleep in bed with her foster mom. She can't jump on the bed yet, but figured out the doggy stairs quickly. She will stay curled up at the foot of the bed with her head resting on your foot or will sleep on a dog bed next to your bed. If she has to be kenneled, just point towards the kennel and she will step inside and eat her treats while you close the door. She has started leash training and just needs some extra practice boosting her confidence when she goes on walks. She is very treat motivated and will walk beside you as long as she gets rewarded with little bites of dog cookies along the way. She will need additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills in her forever home. She is doing well with potty training and will alert her foster mom that she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door. First thing in the morning, she will run to the door to be let out too. She does need to be taken out every 3-4 hours and kept on a consistent schedule until she settles in and learns her new routine in her forever home. It is recommended to use a doggy door bell by the back door to help her learn how to notify you when she needs to go outside.

Coraline's ideal home would be one where she can be included in her family’s daily life and get plenty of love, exercise, and attention. She does need to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in. A loud, busy apartment or condo environment may be too overwhelming for her. She would thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog and does need to have another dog in the home or frequent play dates. She could happily live with older kids and cats too. No public dog parks for this sweet girl because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. She would love if her human works from home so she could spend as much time as possible with them, but would do well going to doggy day care a few days a week if you work a hybrid schedule. Coraline's ideal family would be one that wants to spend lots of quality time with her, and loves her unconditionally for her unique sweet, quirky, loyal personality.
