Freddie Mercury is a sweet, silly 4 month old terrier mix that weighs 20 lbs. He is estimated to be around 60-65 lbs once he is full grown. Freddie is best described as sweet, playful, curious, and smart. He has a calm, easygoing nature and adapts well to whatever his humans are doing. His go-with-the-flow personality makes him equally content joining in on outdoor adventures or relaxing at home by your side. He's very affectionate and loves to share his puppy kisses with his humans every chance he gets. He knows how to keep himself entertained with his toys and chew bones, so he's the perfect pup to be by your side as you work from home. He's also very routine oriented, and he gets his daily zoomies every day at 6 PM on the dot. He adores people and other doggy friends so if you work in a dog-friendly office, he'd love to join you. He loves to soak up all the attention, belly rubs, and cuddles he can get. He’s the kind of pup who can keep you laughing with his silly antics one moment, then melt into your lap for snuggles the next. His confident and curious nature is perfect for a family that enjoys outdoor activities, like exploring nature or going on hiking trails. He's even the type of pup that'll be happy to join you for brunch dates on a patio, going to farmer's markets, or spending time at friends' homes where he can play with their doggy friends. Freddie's ideal family would be a mix of laid back and active. He's the type of companion that enjoys spending time outdoors and also doesn't mind having lazy days around the house watching movies and cuddling on the couch. Whether its relaxing on the porch soaking up the sunshine or going on leisurely walks on nature trails, he's always happy to be by your side.

Freddie is medium energy, so he's a perfect mix of active and laid back. He enjoys a nice balance of playtime and relaxation, and is really good about entertaining himself with his toys and chew bones. His energy level will increase as he gets older, but he is overall pretty mellow. Currently he has short bursts of puppy energy followed by long naps. He loves playing with toys, romping around with his doggy friends, and cuddling on the couch with his foster family. His favorite games are playing chase with his doggy friends and working on his puzzle games to win some treats as prizes. He would love to go to doggy day care a couple of days during the week or have doggy play dates if there are no other dogs in his forever home because he loves having fun with his furry friends. He also enjoys engaging in mental stimulation activities with his human, like hide and treat, treat dispensing toys, and snuffle mats. While he enjoys playing with his doggy and human friends, he’s also perfectly content to entertain himself with his favorite toys when he can't find anyone to play with. When he's ready for some down time, he will find a comfy spot in the living room to relax and chew on a bone. As he grows up, he would be a great pup to take on fun adventures exploring nature trails and going on longer hikes with his humans. He will need more practice and exposure to going to dog-friendly stores and outings in busy public places as he grows up to ensure he continues important socialization skills. He's the type of pup that would thrive in a family that enjoys the outdoors, but also enjoys some lazy days cuddling on the couch too. His ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and he’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month, especially now that he is about to start teething.

Freddie is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He is currently in a foster home with both small and large sized dogs, and he loves them all. He plays with the younger dog the most, and respects the boundaries of the older dogs in the home. He is a social butterfly when it comes to making new dog friends and would benefit from having another confident, playful dog in his forever home. He has learned proper doggy communication skills and boundaries from his older doggy friends, and takes correction well if other dogs communicate that they are tired of his puppy antics. He will scamper off to find something else to play with instead when he can't find a doggy playmate. He also had some kitties in his first foster home, and learned to coexist with them. Because of his young age and friendly demeanor, he would be able to join a family that has a cat in the home. Since he is a silly, playful puppy, he would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as he is a puppy and will want to play with them. Freddie would do well with kids of all ages. He loves to play, cuddle, and share his sweet puppy kisses with everyone he meets. He is very gentle and sweet, and would be perfect for a family with kids. He has started teething already, so his humans will need to keep a watchful eye on him to make sure he doesn't chew on human kid toys laying around. He may trip a smaller toddler just learning how to walk because of his love for chasing socks, too.

Freddie is kennel trained, potty trained, and mostly leash trained. He sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss, but enjoys a chew bone and some of his favorite toys as he settles in. When he gets older, he would love to snuggle up in bed with his humans every night so he can get in as many cuddles as possible. He is doing well with potty training and alert his foster family when he needs to go outside to potty. He will run to the back door and start pacing when he needs to go. He does need a consistent schedule and be taken out every 4 hours initially until he settles into a good routine, so he will need someone who either works from home, works hybrid or has shorter hours that overlap with partner's work schedule in the home. He has started leash training and does well walking around the block, but can get distracted by people and other dogs walking by and gets excited to make new friends. He is easily redirected with food, but will need additional practice to perfect his leash walking skills in his forever home.

Freddie's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. He would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse as long as he gets frequent exercise and potty breaks throughout the day. He is still learning how to go up and down stairs, but because he has little legs, he takes a while to make it up half way and his foster mom still helps him out. He won't mind stairs in his forever home once he gets older though. It is preferred that his human either works from home, can go home on lunch break to take him out, or can take him into a dog-friendly office while he is still young. He would also love to go to doggy day care a few times a week if there are no other dogs in the home so that he can have some fun playing with other doggy friends. No public dog parks for this little boy because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. He would do love to have a family that has other dogs and kids, and would coexist well if there's a kitty in the home too. With his adaptable, laid back nature, he would be a wonderful fit for a variety of households. His ideal family is one that wants a playful pup to join in on fun outdoor adventures and also cuddle up on the couch after. Freddie Mercury is ready to give his whole heart to a family who will love him just as much in return. If you’re looking for a pup who will be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your best little friend, Freddie is the perfect match for you.
