Max is a super sweet and cuddly 10 year old mini poodle that weighs 9 lbs. He is fully grown and will not get any larger. Max is super friendly and loves to meet new people.  He always greets them with polite charm and a calm, gentle demeanor. He just loves to be with his people and always wants to be nearby watching quietly. Don't worry - he's not a stage five clinger though and will give you personal space. He will follow you all over the house, like a little fluffy shadow, just to keep an eye on you and be near. He is naturally laid back, curious, and observant. He is happy to sit back and watch his human and the world go by before easing his way into the action. He is calm and quiet, but will let his needs be known, like when he needs to potty or wants a snack. When there's a lot of foot traffic and loud noises in the home, he will go sit by himself in a quiet area, and once everything settles back down, he comes right out to join everyone again. He would love a family that enjoys both lounging on the couch cuddling and also spending some time outdoors. He really loves to snoot around the backyard and investigate everything around him before he finds a place in the grass to roll around. His super sweet, gentle nature makes him the perfect pup for a family that lives a laid back lifestyle and wants a dog that can match their low key energy level. If you want to have a lazy day watching movies snuggled up on the couch, he’s happy to join. If you want to go on a fun outing, whether it is going to brunch with friends at a dog-friendly restaurant, going on walks to meet the neighbors, or going on drives around town, then he's up for that too.

Max is low to medium energy, he absolutely loves going for walks and is ready to go anytime his human is, but for the most part he is pretty mellow and laid back. He is ok hanging out with the resident dogs in his foster home, but he isn’t interested in playing with them very often. He is really good at self-entertaining though. He will find a comfy spot near his humans to sprawl out and play with his toys, so he's the perfect fur-baby for someone who works from home or is retired. He has discovered how fun it is playing with a stuffed animals and really enjoys playing a light game of fetch with his foster mom in the living room. He loves to go on leisurely walks around the neighborhood and on nature trails, but isn't a pup that would enjoy marathon runs or extensive hikes. He would also be a great pup to go on fun outings to dog-friendly stores and restaurants because he's always up for making new human friends, has a laid back personality, and loves spending time with his person.

Max is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He is currently in a foster home with two other small dogs and frequently visits a home with a large Shepherd and Doodle. He does well coexisting with them all and is friendly towards them when they are around. He is the type of dog that is well behaved around other dogs and will play a little if they instigate it. He is more on the independent side though and can mostly be found lounging on his bed or trying to snuggle up to his favorite person. He could benefit from having a confident, playful dog in his forever home that he can continue to learn from, but being an older guy and used to being the only fur-child, he would thrive being the center of attention. He also has a kitty in his foster home and likes to give a gentle nod "hello" to him, but he respects his personal space and doesn't mess with him at all. His laid back personality and gentle demeanor makes him the perfect pup to acclimate into a home with laid back cat. Max doesn't mind children, but prefers to be around calm, quiet adults. Since he is a very sweet, gentle senior guy, he would do great with a family without kids or with calmer, older children who respect his personal space. He always welcomes pets and belly rubs, but wouldn't appreciate younger children pulling on his curly hair or chasing him around the home.

Max is potty trained, leash trained, and kennel trained. He sleeps in a kennel or in bed with his foster mom at night. He doesn’t make a fuss when everyone is settling down for bedtime and will wait until the other dogs get settled before he finds his spot on the bed. He sleeps through the night and doesn’t make a peep until his foster mom gets up in the morning. When he is settled into his forever home, he would love to snuggle up in bed with his human every night so he can get as many cuddles in as possible before he falls asleep. Then once he's drifting off, he will move down to the bottom corner of the bed. When he first arrives home it is recommended to use a kennel at night and when you are not home to make sure he has acclimated to a good routine for his potty schedule before letting her roam free. He has done very well with going potty but does need time in a new place to and a regular schedule until he is acclimated. Max gets very excited when he is about to go for a walk, he jumps for joy and can hardly stand the wait long enough to get his leash on. He isn’t one that wants to go on super long hikes or runs, but he is very happy to walk the neighborhood and see and smell new things.

Max's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to explore and get rolls in the grass. He would be able to live in an apartment, condo or townhouse as long as he gets plenty of daily walking and rolling in the grass. He would prefer a human that works from home or that could bring him to a dog-friendly office if they work a hybrid schedule. Max is a very quiet guy, but he does do happy barks when his human comes home from work and he wants out of the kennel so he can do a proper greeting. No public dog parks for this sweet boy (who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways). Max would love to have a single person or a couple that is able to spend time with him and would love to be the center of attention, but he could coexist with other pets that are calm and respect his personal space. He just really loves to be with his person and wants to spend as much time as possible being with his one-and-only. Max is a wonderful partner for someone who also needs a sweet companion to spend time with. He is ready to start the next chapter of his sweet life and bring endless love, attention and affection to the person/family lucky enough to call him their own.
