Phoenix is a silly, sweet 2 month old terrier mix that weighs 7 lbs. He is estimated to be around 45-50 lbs once he is full grown. Phoenix is a fun, outgoing social butterfly that loves everyone he meets right away. He is always happy to be around his humans and doggy friends, and doesn't have a shy bone in his body. He is a mix of affectionate and silly, so when he's cuddled up giving sweet puppy kisses, sometimes he will get so excited that he gets the zoomies. He is easily entertained with chew toys and stuffed toys, and he constantly is digging through the doggy toy box finding different toys to keep himself busy with. He enjoys spending time cuddling with his foster mom while she works, and will squeeze himself on her computer chair so he can observe what she's working on before falling alseep for a nap. He will occasionally pop his cute little face in Zoom calls to say hello. He is very curious and always wants to see what his foster mom is up to, so you can usually find him following behind her as she walks around the house. When he goes outside to play though, he is off on his own adventure snooting around the yard, rolling in the grass, and trying to entice the older resident dogs to play a game of chase with him. Phoenix's curious and sweet nature makes him the perfect companion for a family that that wants a social, outdoor-loving pup that can join them on lots of fun activities going hiking, camping, and exploring nature.

Phoenix is low to medium energy, so he is the perfect mix of active and laid back. He is pretty mellow during the day while his foster mom works and loves to lounge around on a dog bed near her desk or on her lap. He does have short bursts of energy that require play time and mental stimulation activities like puzzle games, playing with the resident dogs in the yard, and rummaging through the toy box to play with a variety of toys. He loves to join his foster mom on walks with the older dogs and happily sits in the puppy pouch observing the world around him as they make their way around the neighborhood. He loves to just look around at everything and takes it all in. He would love a family that enjoys both lounging on the couch cuddling and also spending time outdoors. When he's not playing with her toys or doggy friends, he loves to just lay on the porch or in the grass sunbathing and snooting around in the grass. He is really good at self-entertaining by playing with his toys. Give this boy a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, chew toys, and more and he will keep himself entertained majority of the day. He would benefit from having a Bark Box subscription and a toy box with a variety of toys to choose from in his forever home. Puzzle games and lick mats with peanut butter are great ways to keep him busy indoors when it's cold and rainy outside, too. As he gets older and masters leash training, he would be the perfect pup to take on outdoor adventures hiking and exploring nature because he just loves to get out and experience the world around him.

Phoenix is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He loves to play with other dogs of any size and age, and is currently in a foster home with dogs ranging in size from 7 lbs. to 70 lbs. and ages 2 months old to 12 years old. He loves to follow around the older dogs in his foster home and will cuddle up next to them every chance he gets. He will play wrestle with the younger dogs in the home and knows he has to be gentle with the two chihuahuas. He would benefit from having another friendly, playful, and confident dog in his forever home so that he can continue learning from them as he grows. He has been introduced to cats and doesn't mind them at all. He would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as he is a puppy and will want to play with them. Phoenix would do well in a home with kids of all ages as he loves to be cuddled and loved on, but he is going to start teething soon, so keeping lots of chew toys and doggy bones around to redirect him with is going to be important. Since he is very sweet and affectionate, but also super silly and playful, he would do great with a family with kids who want a fun-loving pup to play and snuggle with. He loves to receive affection from his humans in the form of belly rubs, ear scratches, and cuddles. He will give you the sweetest puppy kisses to show how much he loves you in return.

Phoenix is kennel trained and is still working on mastering potty training. He has not yet started working on leash training, but his foster mom will begin that soon. He sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss as long as he gets a yummy treat and some toys to keep him busy before he falls asleep. He will not make a peep until he's ready to go potty in the morning. When he gets older, he would love to snuggle up in bed with his new humans every night so he can get in as many cuddles as possible. He is doing well with potty training since transitioning to going potty outside. Every morning he runs straight to the backdoor and waits for his foster mom to let him outside to potty. During the day, most of the time he will linger by the back door and put his feet on the door when he needs to go outside, but he is still working on alerting all the time though. As long as he gets a set schedule going outside every few hours for consistent potty breaks, he doesn't have any accidents inside. He is still learning what a leash is and right now thinks it is just a toy for him to play with, so he has not yet started working on walking with one yet. His foster mom will be working on acclimating him to walking around the backyard with a leash on soon, but since he has not received all of his vaccinations yet, he will need some more practice perfecting his leash walking skills in his forever home once he is adopted.

Phoenix's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. He would do well in an apartment, condo or townhouse if his human works from home or can take him to a doggy day care or even a dog-friendly office during the day. No public dog parks for this boy, but he would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots occasionally for playtime/exercise if he does live in an apartment or townhome without a private yard. He would also benefit from going to doggy day care so he can make new puppy friends while also burning some energy if you work outside of the home during the day. He would do love to have a family that has other dogs and kids, and would coexist well if there's a kitty in the home too. He does need to have someone home most of the day or that can take him into the office if working a hybrid schedule as he continues working on mastering potty training. He really just loves to be with his humans and wants to spend as much time as possible with them.
