Rune is a sweet, silly 6.5 month old terrier mix that weighs 36 lbs. He is expected to be around 45-50 lbs when he is fully grown. Rune is the epitome of the life of the party. He is affectionate, social, outgoing, and has the best personality. He is incredibly curious and loves being included in whatever is happening around him. He’s the kind of dog who wants to experience it all and is always ready for the next adventure. He is such a social butterfly that he never passes up a chance to meet new friends, no matter if it's a human, dog, or cat. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he has a special talent for bringing out the playful side in everyone around him. Even older, lazy dogs who would normally prefer to spend their days lounging have been known to get up and join Rune for a little fun. And his love for making friends doesn’t stop with dogs and people! Rune has happily befriended his foster family’s kittens, too. In fact, the kittens think he makes an excellent jungle gym and have no problem climbing all over him while they play. Rune takes it all in stride and seems perfectly content to let his tiny feline friends use him as their personal playground. Rune is the type of pup who would make an amazing adventure buddy. He’s ready to go wherever you’re headed and is happiest when he gets to be part of the action. Picture him hiking through the mountains, racing around the park while chasing a ball, tagging along to dog-friendly stores around town, or enjoying a playdate with his favorite doggy friends. Wherever Rune goes, he’s going to have a fantastic time, and he’ll make sure you do, too. Despite his playful and energetic personality, what really makes Rune special is his ability to connect with everyone he meets. He has a genuinely joyful spirit and seems to find happiness in the simplest things. Whether it's making a new friend, playing a game of fetch, going on an exciting outing, or simply being included with his people, he brings an infectious enthusiasm to life and has a way of making every day feel like an adventure. Rune is looking for a family who will appreciate his goofy personality, keep his curious mind and playful body busy, and include him in all the fun. If you’re looking for a social, affectionate, adventurous pup who is always ready to make a new friend and turn an ordinary day into something exciting, Rune just might be your guy.

Rune is medium energy, so he is pretty mellow with short bursts of puppy energy that requires a couple of short exercise sessions per day. Whether it is longer walks around the neighborhood or play time in the backyard, he's content with whatever form of exercise his humans wants to do with him. He loves playing with toys, romping around with his doggy friends, and cuddling on the couch with his foster family. He is highly food motivated and loves play mental stimulation games, like puzzles that involve his favorite treats. He also loves running around the yard, playing in the pool, and play wrestling with the other dogs in his foster home. While he enjoys playing with his furry and human friends, he’s also perfectly content to entertain himself with his favorite toys when he can't find anyone to play with. When he's ready for some down time, he will find a comfy spot on a dog bed and chew on a bone or will toss around his favorite toy to keep himself busy. His ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and he’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month. Rune is the type of dog that would enjoy going on fun adventures exploring nature trails or just hanging out on the couch snuggling with his human for movie nights. He would thrive with a fun, outdoorsy family that enjoys exploring nature and spending lots of time with a playful companion by their side.

Rune is dog, cat, and kid friendly. He is currently in a foster home with multiple dogs of different ages and sizes. He loves every dog he meets and would love to have another playful doggy companion in his forever home. He does well with small dogs, big dogs, young dogs, old dogs, and he's managed to win them all over. He knows proper doggy communication skills and how to respect boundaries with doggy friends, and takes correction well if other dogs communicate that they don't want to play. He has such a laid back, neutral demeanor that he can hang out with the senior dogs in the home and they don't mind him one bit. There are also kitties in his foster home and he loves to spend time with them. He will patiently lay on the floor and let the kittens jump all over him, bite his ears, and use him as a jungle gym. With the older cat, he respects their boundaries and knows to leave them alone. He would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before as he will want to hang out and play with them if there are no other dogs in the home. Rune is currently in a foster home with kids ranging in ages from 5 to 12, and he adores them all. He is an incredibly sweet, playful, and affectionate boy who truly enjoys being around his people. When he gets especially excited, he will do the zoomies and so if there are young children in the home learning to walk, he may accidentally knock them over. But he will always stop, go check on them, and share some sweet puppy kisses if that happens.

Rune is kennel trained, leash trained, and potty trained. He will sleep in a kennel at night with no fuss if he has to, but enjoys a treat and some of his favorite toys as he settles in. He really loves when he gets to sleep in bed with his foster family though and would love to snuggle up in bed with his family every night so he can get in as many cuddles as possible. When he needs to go outside and potty he will walk to the back door and start circling around to notify you he needs out. He is comfortable walking on a leash and enjoys going out for walks around the neighborhood. He can sometimes get a little excited when he sees other dogs, but for the most part is pretty calm and is easily redirected with some yummy treats. He is happy to go on leisurely walks around the neighborhood but really loves to go on longer hiking trails where he can sniff and explore.

Rune's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. He would be able to live in apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as he has a human that can take him out for multiple leisurely walks per day. He would love if his human works from home, but if his human works out of the home, he will need longer play sessions, walks, and fun adventures on the weekends. He is comfortable going up and down stairs so he would do fine living in a home with stairs. No public dog parks for this sweet boy because who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways. Instead he would love to go on fun outings at Sniff Spots if he doesn't have a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. He would love to have a family that has another friendly, playful dog and kids of all ages to play and snuggle with. He would do well if there's a dog-friendly kitty in the home too. Rune's got a whole lot of love, a whole lot of personality, and a lifetime of adventures waiting ahead of him, and now all he needs is a forever family to share that with.
