Macbeth is a sweet and affectionate 2 year old Chihuahua / Corgi mix that weighs 16 lbs. He is fully grown and will not get any bigger. Macbeth is very social, friendly and loves meeting new human and doggy friends. His foster mom describes him as playful, curious, affectionate, and full of life. He is a perfect gentleman on public outings. He loves to join his foster mom when she goes to all the dog-friendly stores and restaurants, and is so polite when someone comes up to pet him. This charming little guy has a heart full of love and a personality that shines wherever he goes. He is super affectionate and could spend all day cuddling with his human if he could. He loves being right next to you and would be perfect work from home companion. He loves to sit next to his person touching their leg or sprawled out across their lap when he really wants to get some belly rubs. He will even fall asleep if you rub his belly long enough. Mac’s favorite way to sleep is buried under his blanket and next to his human. Macbeth’s ideal home would be one filled with love, companionship, and cozy cuddles. He would thrive with someone who enjoys having a loyal little shadow by their side; whether that’s working from home, relaxing on the couch, or exploring the city together. This affectionate boy has so much love to give and is ready to share it all with his forever family. With his sweet personality, gentle nature, and zest for life, Macbeth is sure to fill his new home with joy, laughter, and endless snuggles.

Macbeth is low to medium energy, so he has short spurts of energy that are easily burned with short walks or playtime. He's a perfect mix of laid back and active, so once he gets his daily exercise in, he is pretty laid back and low energy. He loves to go on walks, and explore the busy big city and also calmer nature trails. He will happily walk as long as his human wants to continue walking with him. Although he started out as a country boy, Macbeth loves the city life and proudly prances around downtown Austin like he has been there his whole life. His favorite activities includes car rides and joining his human on fun outings to dog-friendly stores. He isn't big on playing with dog toys and would much prefer to get out of the house and walk around the neighborhood instead. He loves engaging in training activities, too. He is very food motivated and loves to engage with his human, so incorporating fun learning activities for him is a great way to continue building a bond with him while teaching him some new tricks. Once he's gotten some exercise or mental stimulation activities done, he just curls up next to his human for a long snooze.

Macbeth is dog and kid friendly, but has not yet been introduced to cats. He is very nonchalant towards other dogs and doesn't engage with them when he is around them. He will happily walk next to another dog as he's strolling the city streets with his foster mom, but does not want to interact with them other than that. He would much rather spend time with his humans and soak up all the love and cuddles. He has met both large and small dogs, and just acts like they aren't even there. If they try to sniff him, he just walks away. When he is on walks with his foster mom and sees another dog, he will casually look over at them and keep walking. If they bark at him, he will bark back as he just continues on his walk, but does not try to pull towards the dog to try to get closer to them. He just wants to mind his own business and do his own thing. He would do perfectly fine being the only dog in his forever home, but could coexist with a calmer, laid back dog that would respect his personal space. His gentle, affectionate, silly personality makes him the perfect pup for a family with kids. He would love to have older kids that he can snuggle and engage in training activities with. He has not yet been introduced to cats, so if there is a kitty in the home, slow introductions are required. Based on his low key personality, he would most likely do just fine with kitties as he would respect their personal space and would appreciate them respecting his personal space too.

Macbeth is kennel trained, leash trained and potty trained. He walks very well on a leash and doesn't pull at all. He does great in busy, public settings and is always happy when someone comes up to say "hello". He does sometimes get excited when people come up to pet them and will try to jump into their arms to be held and cuddled on, but is easily redirected by being told "no". He is very food motivated and is quick to pick up on new training skills. He learned how to sit for a treat in just minutes! He does sleep in bed with his foster mom at night and can be trusted to be left out when she needs to leave, so he free ranges most of the day. He would sleep in a kennel if he had to, but he would really love to sleep in bed with his humans curled up underneath the covers. He is fully potty trained and usually gets up from wherever he’s napping, start to get energetic, and softly bark towards the door to indicate he's ready to go outside for a potty break. He will not have an accident inside and does not mark around the home either.

Macbeth's ideal home would be with a family that works from home or that can take him with them to a dog-friendly office. He would do fine in a house with or without a fenced in backyard, an apartment, condo or townhouse. He's easily adaptable to any living situation because as long as he's with his humans, he's a happy guy. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but could coexist with another calm, laid back dog that isn't going to intrude on his personal space. He's just not the type of dog that wants to play with other dogs, but he's perfectly fine coexisting with them in the same space. No public dog parks for this sweet boy (who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways), so if his future family lives in an apartment, daily walks around the neighborhood or walking trails are the best ways to get his daily exercise in. He would do love to have a laid back family that enjoys being outside walking and exploring both the big city and quiet nature trails. He is always up for an adventure and loves being with his people. so someone that can involve him in their daily life is a must. Macbeth would be the perfect fit for someone who wants a loyal, affectionate, and easygoing companion to share life’s little adventures with.
