Zoe

Zoe is a laid back, loving 1 year old terrier mix that weighs 45 lbs. She is full grown and will not get any larger. Zoe is deeply affectionate and an absolute cuddle bug who loves nothing more than being close to her humans. She is best described as loving, affectionate, silly, and playfully sweet. This lovable girl has the perfect balance of cuddly calm and playful energy. Whether you’re looking for a snuggle buddy for lazy afternoons or a cheerful companion for adventures, Zoe is always happy to join. She is a true sweetheart with new people she meets and is very polite during introductions. She will sit there patiently, just quietly watching with hope and curiosity until you invite her over for pets and snuggles. She is the perfect companion if you work from home because she's very good at keeping herself entertained when you’re busy. She’ll happily spend time playing with her toys, snuffle mats, or puzzle games, and then give you some cuddles in between your work calls to help ease the stress of the workday. She's laid back and on the calmer side, so she's perfectly content to nap nearby or curl up in your office chair while you work. She is a bit on the reserved side when she's meeting someone new and waits for them to initiate some pets before she crawls in their lap for some cuddles. She really lights up when she meets new dog friends though and will immediately show off her silly, playful side with them. Zoe's ideal family will be a good mix of active and outdoorsy, and also laid back and enjoys some time hanging out at home. She would love a family that includes her in their daily lives and love her as much as she’ll love them (which will be a lot!). Whether it’s going on walks, exploring new places, or enjoying lazy days at home, she’ll be your most loyal sidekick every step of the way. With her goofy charm, affectionate personality, and heart full of love, Zoe is sure to fill your home with laughter, warmth, and endless cuddles.
Zoe is low to medium energy, so she is a good mix of active and playful, but also laid back and mellow. She has short bursts of energy that can be easily burned with play sessions outside in the backyard or leisurely walks around the neighborhood. She loves it when her humans are involved in her outdoor activities, whether it is tossing her favorite balls for a game of fetch or just hanging out on the patio enjoying the sunshine and relaxing. She also likes going on leisurely walks around the neighborhood and would love to explore nature trails with her human in her forever home. She really enjoys a nice balance of playtime and calm moments, and you can usually find her curled up on the couch for naps after each play session. She normally gets her energy out by running around the yard and being silly as she plays with her doggy friends or tossing her favorite stuffed animal around the yard and chasing after it. While she enjoys playing with her doggy friends, she’s also perfectly content to entertain herself with her favorite toys when she can't find another pup to play with. She carries her favorite stuffed bunny with her everywhere and you can usually spot her holding onto it by one ear as she makes her way around the house and backyard. Give this girl a toy box full of chew bones, squeaky toys, and tug ropes and she will keep herself entertained majority of the day. She would benefit from having a Bark Box subscription and a toy box with a variety of toys to choose from in her forever home. On rainy days, a great way to keep her busy indoors is giving her treat dispensing toys or a snuffle mat with treats hidden throughout. She loves to play with mental stimulation toys, like puzzle games, that involve food and will take all the time she needs to make sure she finds every last yummy treat hidden inside.
Zoe is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She doesn't pay them any attention when she sees neighborhood cats roaming around outside. She is currently in a foster home with both small and large sized dogs, and she loves them all. She is very calm, gentle, and respectful of their personal space and really loves to have a confident doggy companion to spend time with. She loves to play and cuddle with other dogs of any size and age. She is a social butterfly when it comes to making new dog friends and would benefit from having another playful, confident dog in her forever home. Because she tends to follow the confident dogs in her foster home and learns to build her own confidence by watching them, it is recommended that there not be a nervous/anxious dog in her forever home that she will feed off their nervous energy. Because of her young age and friendly, gentle demeanor, she would be able to adjust to a kitty in the home with very slow intros. She has been around outside neighborhood cats and doesn't pay them any attention at all, but hasn't lived with one inside the home. Introducing slowly behind baby gates and giving the kitty time to adjust to having a dog in the home is recommended if there is a cat in her forever home. She would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before and won't scare her by hissing and swatting at her if she comes near (she can be a little sensitive and get her feelings hurt). Zoe would do well with kids of all ages. She is very calm, sweet, and gentle and would be perfect for a family with kids that want a cuddly, laid back companion to grow up with.
Zoe is kennel trained, leash trained, and potty trained. She sleeps in a kennel at night with no fuss, and enjoys having some of her stuffed animals in there with her to cuddle. She would love to snuggle up in bed with her humans every night so she can get in as many cuddles as possible in her forever home. She is potty trained and will go to back door to notify her fosters that she needs to go out to potty. She does not have accidents inside her foster home, but will need to consistent potty breaks to get on her new routine once she is in her forever home. She walks well on a leash and isn't reactive to dogs/people that she sees out on walks. She does sometimes get excited when she initially goes outside on a leash to start her walk, but is easily redirected with treats or calm words.
Zoe's ideal home would be a house with a fenced in backyard to run around and play in. She could acclimate to living in an apartment, condo, or townhouse because she is lower energy and calm. She would love if her human works from home or can take her to a dog-friendly office as she would be perfectly content laying by your feet while you work all day. She would thrive in a home with other playful, confident dogs. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from going to doggy day care to help her burn some energy while socializing with some doggy friends. No public dog parks for this sweet girl (who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways), but she would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots or doggy day care occasionally for playtime and exercise if she does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. Whether she’s exploring the outdoors or curled up for snuggles, Zoe just wants to share life with her people. She’s so excited to find a forever family who will give her all the love, cuddles, and companionship she dreams of.
